I'm considering buying a new home.
My question is how much % cut can I count on the US government cutting off after I sign the mortgage papers?

Today's homes are priced more fairly than they were in 2004-2006. I think they are back to valuations of 98/99 now.

Buying a home now, gives you a great deal. Take that all the way to the bank and be happy you are paying a FAIR price for your home.

Looking for a hand-out? Screw that.. live your life without them and die proud of yourself for making it on your own.

Start reading up on how to buy a foreclosed property. That is the best you are gonna get in terms of discounts.

Are you talking about the $7500 loan from the fed if you buy a foreclosed home between now and something like June or July of 09?

No, I'm talking about rebating the price down on a home after I sign the papers.

1. I buy house X for $???
2. Government cuts down the price of house X by ??%
3. I end up paying less for house X than the seller sold it for.
4. From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.

I have not looked into that hardly at all. I think the best you might find depends on your state and county. Certain states and counties offer first time home buyer programs that sometimes includes need based help from the government to pay for a part of your down payment, but that is all I have heard of.
