Yes, we were both home. Like I said, my wife had just walked our pup there about 1 minute before the car hit.

Wow, they must have gotten away pretty quick. How long did you take to come out and see what happened?

1. My wife came in the back door about 1 minute before the car hit.
2. The car hit.
3. My wife screamed that a car had hit our house.
4. I jumped out of bed and called 911.
5. While still on the phone, I went outside to see no car... nothing, except some ruts in the yard and the damage.

Wow, man - that's bad. At least your insurance will fix it up, though. Too bad about your nice bush. I agree with the other guy who said to go post on the F-body message boards. They'll be a big help in tracking down the person who did this, especially if you live in or near a decent metro area.

That's what's left of a wisteria vine/bush I got from my grandmother's house about 13 years ago. before the state tore her house down for a new highway.
It's got far more sentimental value than anything. :(

The car rode over the top of it. It's somewhat flexible, so it gave without breaking. I'm afraid it's out for this year. All the buds it had on it last week are gone. Some of the roots got pulled up by the car.

I wouldn't worry about it, wisterias are very hardy. You could probably cut it off at the ground 5 times a year and it'll still come back. Getting them to bloom is a different story.

Too bad our deductible is $1000. That means I have to rack up over $1000 before the insurance pays anything.
If I can keep the repair cost down, I won't turn in a claim at all. I'll just eat the cost if the person isn't caught or can't pay.
