I've got an old P2 rig, I'm trying to get up and going as a "freebie".
I've got an MX 4000 AGP card installed with a fresh Windows 2000 load.
The newest Forceware drivers and also went back as far as 78.01. But I still get some odd icon action. Some desktop and window buttons aren't colored correctly.

I know the AGP card is good. It worked fine in a P3 rig.
Does anyone know of a sure-fire, rock-solid nVidia driver version for my old P2 setup?

Thanks

Why don't you try a search in Nvidia's site or Nvnews forums to find the last supported version of Forceware for your card?

The newest forceware drivers will work fine with a faster CPU combo. It's just that the P2 is so old/slow that I figured there was an older version that worked better with it.

Sometimes older drivers work better with older hardware.

Yes, I would definitely try the 30.82 drivers, they used to be the ones I used for my GF4 TI card and they were stable and fairly fast for their time. I would suggest these as well.

I played around with some older ones. But ended up getting the 78.01 working after several installs.
It was odd that some older drivers weren't seen by Windows to be for the video card I had installed.

My last P2 rig is out the door... I'm done with them for good. You guys know how it is.
You hate to turn down a free working PC, no matter what the speed. But P3's are my limit now. ;)

Thanks
