This is specifically for people with the mentioned motherboard whether it be a Rev 1, 1.1, or 2 or a S2/S4. Please post your experience with this board, system specs, and any cons you have found while using this board.

Specs in rig profile in sig.

Pros=
-Very stable Currently running at 280x9 with no errors or hang ups
-Board layout is well planned out
-Brings a whole new meaning to bang for your buck
-CPU and RAM compatibility- is very vast
-SLI capable
-Kept Legacy ports such as serial
-All round great board for the money
-plenty of PCI slots

Cons=
-no active cooling on the chipset (can be easily fixed by gluing a 50mm fan on it np)
-To get into the ram timings and the HT link control to overclock you need to press Ctrl+F1
-floppy drive connector is too far away from the front of the board
-didn't get it sooner

I'm in the middle of building a system with the GA-M57SLI-S4 (rev. 2.0) and may have come across a problem. The onboard USB connectors appear to be upside down compared to the user manual or any pics I've seen online. My "No Pin" (#9) is facing the front panel connectors at the bottom of my case, not the chipset heatsink and battery above. Have you the same layout or did I get what should've been a factory reject? If I can figure out how to attach a picture to this, I'll send it so you can see what I'm talking about. Thanks!!

mine is actually facing the same way as yours. i think the layout in the manual is just a generic one and i guess they made a mistake in the manual or something

So when you plugged them in, I presume you just flipped the wire headers 180 degrees to ensure the +, - & GND etc were in the right positions ... and your front USB ports work fine?

they sure do. just reverse what the manual says exactly and you will be in the green

I just bought one of these boards myself and I'm having a bit of an issue. The manual says for dual channel mode on the RAM that you need to use the same colored sockets. I have 2x1 GB G-Skill memory, and they each seem to work when seated individually, but when I place them both in the yellow slots, or the orange, I get the long continuous beeps that indicate a DRAM problem at post. If I seat one stick in DIMM 1, and the other in DIMM 3 it gets past that error, but I'm not sure if I'm actually running in dual channel mode. What could the issue be?
