Would like to put the following proposed rule changes up for consideration before we get underway this year. 1. Change league payout structure to provide incentives for all owners to stay engaged for the whole season. Namely, allot some share of the prize money (maybe $25 or $30) to the owner who shows the most improvement from the All-Star break through season end. Can use either percentage increase in Total Points from ASB to season end (40 to 50 points = 25% improvement), or who can climb the most spots in overall standings (e.g. from 11th place to 4th place). 2. To address concerns with streaming pitchers surfaced last year; (a) change roster configuration from SP,SP,RP,RP, P, P, P to all P. (b) change settings so dropped players return immediately to FA rather than Waivers (unless already played that day). 3. I would like to see two new scoring categories added which would make us a 6x6 league. (a) Keep QS but add Wins - there's nothing worse than having your RP get the win rather than a Save so you get one less counting stat. Plus it makes owning middle relievers or someone who might be used for long relief a much more realistic strategy, currently if you're not a starter who can consistently go 6+ IP or a closer who can ring up a SV then you're not even worth owning in our league. (b) Add category SLG (slugging percentage). I think currently our stats give way too much benefit to guys who get their stats by only weak singles or getting hit-by-pitch. In real life baseball a player who consistently gets extra base hits is considered way more valuable than a slap hitting utility infielder and I think our scoring should reflect that also.

Glenn sent this email out earlier today. I havent looked too closely at it but I do like the initiative to keep owners engaged.

Marcus posted this on the yahoo site.

I like rule 1. Rule 2, I do not like for the following reason. I tell you when I am dropping a stud, you meet me online, and BOOM!! I need an emergency QS or win, we meet again and you repay me with Kershaw or someone like that. I pretty much like 3, I missed wins last year. SLG%? Maybe we could trade in OBP, or add a subtraction for K's or men LOB. My 2 cents. MC/Ret

Ok. I haven't heard back from anyone so I guess the league is dead. It's been fun......
