I upgraded from an i5 6600K to a i7 9700K pretty happy with this CPU. It works for me. And stays very cool. And it’s super fast.

If it is just for gaming i'd say no but if you need the extra horsepower for other demanding tasks it will provide a substantial uplift in performance. Grab a solid cooler and enjoy it.

Not unless your 1% or 0.1% fps suffers or it's a more pro tool and you need the grunt.

Bf5. Yes. Arma 3. No :)

I just ordered a i7-9700k and all of them are sitting in boxes at home... until I get home in 1 week. I've wondered if I should be upgrading, since next year I heard that CPU's will make a huge jump. Anyways, ya, I upgrading from an i5-2500k. My primary goal being to play BFV, and finally experiment with hyperV and remote clients in bedrooms (essentially one computer, two desktop sessions). Spent almost $1800 on the upgrade.

Just to clarify, you will need a new motherboard, as the board you have your 7700k in will not support coffee lake, even though both are listed as socket 1151.
