980TI Hybrid Can't OC at all?

So I have a liquid cooled 980ti hybrid and I can't seem to OC it at all without ARMA 3 crashing, some games run fine stress tests run fine for the most part but man a few games crash every damn time.

I've read google and everyone and their mom can do +125 and/or 1550+ mhz on their 980ti hybrid so far my games crash even at +60 1470 mhz. If I turn my voltage up to +87mv my power level hits its ceiling sometimes and my GPU starts to downclock. So I set my mv to around +30 for 1.23v

Even with max +87mv I cant overclock past 1470mhz without an instant crash so I know that 1470 is my max overclock possible right? It's just upsetting when my GPU stays at around 50-55c under full load but I can't overclock it at all. +30mv and +50 offset is the closest I've gotten to stable but it only adds like 50mhz so it's really not even worth it...

Anyone else have any ideas or anything? Literally never seen ANYONE get such low overclocks out of a 980ti hybrid these were supposed to be overclocking monsters. It upsets me because I was going to try to get ATLEAST 1500mhz out of my GPU so it's on par with the 1070 in performance and I won't have to upgrade but this is really really upsetting on a $600 liquid cooled card that's praised as a massive overclocker.

I feel like I'm doing something wrong... 1.23v on the GPU, Max Power Limit 110%, Set offset to +60 for 1470mhz temps never go above 60c and my game just crashes. I don't get BSOD or a driver notification crash the game literally just goes black and I can't get back into it without closing the game and restarting it. It's weird because most of my bad GPU overclocks in the past resulted in a BSOD or the driver not responding this literally just crashes the game and I have to close the game and reopen it. My second monitor shuts off then shortly after my game crashes.

It almost doesn't even feel like an unstable overclock crash, but it ONLY does it when I overclock. Is my card just that bad? It's a shame when EVERYONE on google is getting wicked good overclocks on this GPU and it sits nice and cold and I can't even push it.

Well, on one hand, "Shrug, overclocking not guaranteed", on the other hand, what PSU are you using, and how old is it? It might be a PSU issue.

I have an EVGA 850 GQ so I highly doubt it's that. and I know overclock not gauranteed but I havn't seen one single person with terrible overclocks like me everyone is basically hitting 1500+ mhz while I can barely hit 1450.

People are getting +125 while I can't even do +60. Alot of people are getting over 1500 like 1550-1600 and I want that 100mhz haha. It would be nice to atleast hit 1480-1500mhz solid and get a nice 150-200mhz overclock.

Don't know what to tell ya. Overclocking is a lot like lotto scratch tickets. Not everybody "wins".

I've seen plenty of people claim to hit 4.5Ghz on G3258 CPUs. Even with what appears to be entry-level mobos.

I've hit (stable): 3.6, 4.0, 4.0, and one 4.2.

Of course, my demands for stability, are a lot more in the "professional" dept. (stable for 24/7 DC at 100% CPU load) than the "casual" (boots Windows, and browses Facebook).

I've also heard ARMA is pretty demanding. Maybe you just can't OC that high, and run that game stably.

Overclocking RARELY matches up with the "hype". Maybe if you get a "cherry" chip, like my Q6600 that clocked to 3.6 on only 1.35v. That was a nice chip. Ran pretty warm though, I was seeing 95C under OCCT load, with a Tuniq Tower 120.

Sure, but I've personally worked with three 980ti's and none of them could hit over 1400 MHz. Stop worrying about what other people are getting. You don't have their card, nor do you have the same computer or stability requirements.

Just do the best you can with your hardware and move on. It's not worth agonizing over.

Have you tried a complete uninstall, driver sweeper, reinstall?

This an evga hybrid? They stock boost to like 1230. You are still managing a couple hundred mhz over stock boost.

Not exactly lottery winner but it is something.

I had two 980tis and play Arma 3 a lot and neither 980ti would run stable over 1380 so I think you're asking a lot if you want to run at 1500+,
ok mine were both air cooled but I'd dial back your settings a bit and be happy with what you got.

Go on the 3DMark results list and see just how many 980ti's are running 1600mhz.... Basically none except the obvious LN2 overclockers. You're chasing a unicorn.
