I actually read an article showing that the latest Cat 4.2 drivers actually outperformed the Omega drivers in nearly every benchmark.

Also to snowman...I recorded a couple demos showing the difference in sensitivity with different refresh rates. I'll convert it to a small avi and let you download it and see for yourself. I literally just recorded these demos and trust me sensitivity is very much affected by refresh rate. I think vsync does make the sensitivities stay the same...but I could be wrong.

Hey guys i fixed my problem
i reformatted my hd and reinstalled xp Omega drivers..
i got 100 fps. now.i disable sticky key. no sound so far. also i turn off Vsync and truform.. i will be testing out the game now!

oh i installed my monitor drivers but still have the 60hz.. sucks. will reply tomorrow with more results

just disabling vsync would have gave you 100fps, the rest wasn't necassary.

however, with vsyc off go look at the edge of a wall and swing your view quickly, see that big ripple running though your screen making the wall look like it is getting torn apart? that's because your frames arn't synced with your monitor.

as for the refresh rate, all you have to do to change that is go to the monitor tap in the advanced display properties and select the refresh you want. then go to the displays tab, open the settings for your screen and select the refresh rate you want in game from the refresh override settings.

charloscarlies, like i said, i disabled vsync and tried various refresh rates only to get the same results. i am looking forward to your video, though i am at a loss as to how i am going to be able to tell how far you moved the mouse from demo recordings.

Yea that's the only problem...you will just have to trust me i guess. I have the xp accel fix on...so speed of my movements don't matter. I have a destrukt pad (which is like 14-16 inches across) and I went exactly from one end to the other. The video is like 1.4 megs if you want to see it. That's really strange that refresh doesn't affect your mouse settings...because I know from experience (plus my video shows) that it surely affects mine.

ya charloscarlies, might as well upload it or send it to me though the email addy in my profile sence you went though the trouble of making it. you really have my curiousity going on this though, i'm going to have to go visit some of my local freinds and see if their setups behave like mine or like yours.

I'll email the vid to you when I get home...it's pretty small. Quality sucks but it's good enough to see what my computer does.

The vid shows:
1.6 sens at 100 hz
1.6 sens at 60 hz
2.6 sens at 60 hz

After swtiching back to 60 hz I couldn't believe that I used to play on that. My eyes started straining badly in the first minute or so.

Another thing just crossed my mind...you are using a usb mouse right? Because isn't the refresh rate of usb 125 hz? Maybe the change in sensitivity has something to do with the relation between the usb refresh and monitor refresh rate? I honestly have no idea....all I know is that on my computers I've always had to adjust my sensitivity according to my refresh rate.

Snow man i didnt see any ripples.

As for the refresh rate i went to "Settings>> "Advanced" >>"Monitor" >>"Monitor Settings" >> [Properties] >>"Driver,">> [Update driver]. then i ran the INF file from sony. after that was done i still get a choice of only 60hz

Snowman you referring to the the setting in the ATI settings??

man that is just weird. i tried again, turned of vsyc and tripple buffering just to make it like yours, and even set my sensitivity to 1.6 to make it like yours; yet still i turn the same amount at 60hz and 120hz. i am really curious as to what the difference is between your setup and mine, what kind of videocard and are you useing? also i'm curious as to why such a thing would happen on any setup, it just doesn't make sense to me that the refreshrate could be tied to input, do you have any idea of the technical reason for this to happen?

its not the resfresh rate directly. what fps are you getting? if its under your refreshrate anyways it wont matter. try settings that will let you get 200+fps and then see the difference with vsync on and off. the mouse is way more accurate at the higher fps.
