Well I'm building a new gaming rig and the last part I need to decide on is the video card, I've narrowed it down to these two but i can't seem to find any head to head tests of these two modles and i was hoping that somebody here could give me some insight as to wich card will perform better.

system specs are:

A643200
DFI LP Ultra NF3 350
512mb GSKILL pc4400
wd 160gb sata hd
etc...

The 6800 will kill that 9800 - but save another couple bucks and get a 256MB 6800 or maybe even a GT. Other people will have more info on the best brands/deals/etc, as I don't have either card in question. 😛

Thanks for the fast replies.

I would go for the 6800 256mb but i'm on a bit of a budget here and that adds 130 to it that i just don't have, that and i'm still a little reluctant to spend 400 on a video card.

im sorry to say that the 6800 will give the 9800 a good swift kick in the pants [i own a 9800 pro 🙁]

the card is just so faasssttt.

Great, now that the 6600gt is out for agp it seems to be pretty mush equal inperformance to the 6800 128mb, would you guys still roccomend going with the 6800 over the 6600gt?

Yeah, the AGP 6600GT is just starting to appear and at the price difference between the two I'd take the 6800.

Because some poor retailer took a gamble and lost...the cost of these cards is quite abit and with their extreme volitility they stand a chance to lose money.
