As fascinating as that false analogy is, personally I hope people will read the reviews after the card launches, evaluate their own needs and either buy it or not based on that.

It's really the only good way to purchase. 🙂

false analogy?
😕

let them judge for themselves if a predatory leopard changes it's spots or a even a nun, her habits ... wait
:Q

anyway ... i just want people to be concerned about a possible false profit. 😛

Good advice now end it at that. You were wrong once before on the same type of topic so you have lost all credibility.

False analogy
All sorts of differences in the situations, and analogies can really only be used as illustration, not proof.

Predatory? I don't care if anyone buys anything. I just put out information and discuss hardware. Hopefully no one is buying anything based on what I say- they should read reviews on independent sites, others opinions, and evaluate for themselves.

I'm no prophet, or profit. Just a gamer and forum rat.

OK, let the reader judge and be aware.. i know what an analogy is .. i was concerned about your false charge of "false" .. my parallel might be disconcerting to you but is not false

Predatory is a verb a "descriptor" - are YOU a leopard? 😉 ... the POINT is that a LEOPARD cannot change his spots nor a NUN her long-held habits
You are right .. how can i possibly ever disagree with you that no one should be buying on your personal recommendation ever again?
Sometimes we just see eye-to-eye - i will give that one to you.

we know, more so a HW fan than gamer, i always believed. 😛 ... i was actually talking about easy profit for NVIDIA 😉
.. caveat emptor

What do you guys think?

is it worth $600 or even $699?
😕

GX2 may be scoring a lot better than the 16K number we are hearing. Check these *rumor* links out:

http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=109617

http://bbs.unihw.com/attachment.php?aid=3001

http://www.unihw.com/html/24/n-124.html

it appears that there may be some confusion between GX2 scores and a single 9800GTX score ... it may not be what we expect
:Q

i have trouble with reading Chinese ... the numbers are clear, however
😕

Well, that is kinda the question of the whole thread...

Basically, I think for someone with a good P35 or X38 chipset board it might be. If you already have an nForce 680i or 780i, then probably not. ...unless you want to get two of them.

if you have SLI - already -it is probably not 😛

but these latest links cast doubt that GX2 will *only* be 16K in 3DMARK06

Of course it's not worth $600.

Well, unless they manage to make their driver magically amazing, & they add dual display support.

/doesn't see those two things happening.

Like the 7800 and 7900 series Ill pass. My 8800GTS 640 still plays every game I own flawlessly. Looking at the game coming out this year I dont expect it to have problems. When Nvidia's next generation comes out. I will probably be due for an upgrade.

I'm in the 'not worth it' camp. Expected 20% improvement over a 3870x2 is nothing to sneeze at -- that's the amount of power you need to go up one notch in resolution.

But these days I'm on a serious bang for buck kick. It has nothing to do with the $ I earn or keep, I've just acquired some bizarre performance/$ OCD in my old age.

My 8800GT 512 is more than good enough for today. My E2180 is more than good enough today. I salute the e-peen set for paying the kinds of margins which make my gaming hobby so insanely affordable. But I won't be joining them -- my gaming experience is not sufficiently worse to warrant a $3k outlay. And my wife is whining re: both of our new jeeps still having stock tires and suspensions that don't require a kidney belt. Compared to car-related hobbies computer gaming is cheap.
