Me too

count me in

IF it isn't $750 for the damn GTX "Ultra" .. you *know* the GT200-x2 - there IS going to be an x2 you can bet on [imo] - and it is gonna be "pricey" [yep, $700+ i think] :p

:Q

who the heck knows ?

I am very curious where the 55nm G92 (also known as G92b) will fit if GT200 (or G100?) rumor is true? So far the rumor has it that GT200 is a gargantuan single-core that will be a true next-gen GPU. But at the same time I keep hearing that 55nm G92 will come soon and stay here for the foreseeable future. These two seem somewhat counter-intuitive unless 55nm G92 is strictly for mid-range.

Perhaps there will be an X2 GT200 card, but there won't if it's another core like G80. It was pretty clear when G80 (and R600 for that matter) launched that dual gpu cards were probably not going to happen until a die shrink. Whatever happens, if the next performance crown card uses a big, hot, low yield core, the days of the top performing single gpu cards costing in the $200-300 dollar range will be over for a while.

I'm digging this GX2 so far... I'd certainly have no problems with a single gpu card that performs as well though.

I would imagine if such a GPU eventuates- that a 55nm G92 will become the midrange/low end (probably with less SP's/lower clocks and power consumption) while the GT200 occupies the high end.

9900 GT/GX2/GTX will be based on GT200 GPU with 55 nm fab and 180.2 GB/s average rumoured bandwidth and here's a picture of GT300, it's too big for my case.

interesting .. it might really be GT100 .. the G94 shrink to .55 - the new midrange

GT 300 as pictured might actually be GT 200 - 9900 series .. the new High end including GT200-X2 - 9900-GX2 which IS big.

if this is true, then expect a FLOOD of NVIDIA GPUs designed to *crush* AMD Graphics at every price point! .. they seem to be pretty damn confident in their GT200 wiping the floor with r700 and GT100 cleaning up with r770 value boards ... i wonder if NVIDIA's IG MBs will be good for a change

Life is within the GPU world has been so boring lately and I do not think it will change. If the rumors of GT200 are true, I don't expect it to be more than 50% faster than current single card performance. To me, this would not be worthy of a $500+ price tag. But if I chose not to upgrade at that point, it *could* be another 2 damn years before the next release. That is what is making this difficult is that the development seems to have stagnated. We are getting rehashed 18 month old technology and while the price are absolutely great, it does't really interest me.

If GT200 is any less than 75% faster than current 9800GTX, I will probably just pass on it and lay off PC hardware for a while. At that point, my rig will probably go untouched for several years.

Of course there is R700, but initial specs seem a bit lacking... Time will tell.

If the leap in performance of the 9900GTX in relation to the 9800GX2 is anything like the leap from 7950GX2 to 8800GTX then the 9800GX2 will definatly be obsolete.

i got a bunch of wikis :p
-they don't all agree with each other

i gave *my speculation* based on the sum my reading and their past
-it is an off-the-wall guess .. and it still makes sense to me

That's true if that is in fact the case. Then again, if that's the case no one will miss their 9800GX2 either - just like no one shed a tear for the 7950GX2 when the 8800GTX came out.

WoW. Well the only beneficial fact I can think of is that the less end cards are going to get cheaper.
