9800 XT problem

Hi
I am using 9800 XT on IS7-G motherboard. It started giving me problems. It froze the monitor screen. I tried to force reboot. But it won't boot. I guessed that it might be AGP Card or slot problem, so I borrowed friends video PCI card, it booted successfully. I replaced 9800 XT back, and it started working fine.
Uninstalled the drivers, downloaded and installed latest catalyst v4.1 from ATI. Seemed to work fine for a while, but after a while same thing started again. It won't even boot anymore (AGAIN). Not even post screen.
Anybody has some cure for this. DO I have a faulty card. Please advise. Appreciate all the help.
Thanks

Sounds like a bad card. -BUT- What power supply do you have and did you remember to plug in the extra molex connector from the power supply to the vid card? You should have at the very least, a 300W power supply when using a R3xx/RV3xx cards.

And read your users manual that came with your 9800XT. If you dont have one, download it from ATI (or whoever manufactured your card) web site.
See if you overlooked anything.
