I was wondering what is the normal temps of a 9800 Pro 256mb RAM.

I have my card's bios flashed to XT speeds but its running pretty hot even with a Vantec Iceberg 4 on it..

I'm talking 75C... but its stable and I want it at these speeds. When I installed the Iceberg 4 I didnt

remove the shim around the chip. Would this effect the performance?

Any suggestions would be nice. Thanks.

Bumps are greatly appreciated if the question boggles you.

I'm almost positive you wanted to remove that shim. Now there is a slight gap between that cooler now and it can't do it's job properly. I'm just speculating though...

don't remove the shim...

i use a mcw 50t for cooling and still have the shim in place... if you use any sort of thermal grease then you'll see that they actual do contact...

removing the shim is difficult AND you are more likely to damage the gpu as well

Yeah, the cooler did touch the chip with the shim on, anyone know the 9800 pro 256mb temps?
