i'm by no means an expert,

but the AIW comes with Input functionality, whereas the 9800pro only has DVI/TV out

this means, you can hook up your camcorder, or vcr, etc, etc to your computer and record from it. afaik (correct me if i'm wrong) the AIWs now also come with TV tuners, so you can watch TV straight off your video card...

hope that helps...

At launch, pricing was much closer ~ $30 or so, if memory serves me well (usually not) AIW cards hold their value a bit longer, but IMO, the price of the AIW 9600 models is what is keeping the pricing higher. The Pinnacle Software,TV tuner, native YPbPr support addd considerable value if you use the features...the lack of dual monitor support is a negative however. Considering its current pricepoint, it seems a bit overpriced to me.

ATI product comparison will give you the feature details. IMO, the AIW 9700pro is a better value currently at nearly $100 cheaper at Newegg.

basically, the all-in-wonders are an added tv tuner function. IMO, i dont think their worth it if you're a gamer because when the time you need to upgrade arises, you'll lose the input function.
