9800 np lock up probs possibly fixed

ok i have posted on here bout three times and i am writing this to confirm if any others had this or similar prob. my 9800 np was locking up all games i ran at a random amount of time (usualy 5-15 min) i tried everything.. now i think i found the fix for this..i have turned off fast writes in the bios,, and now no lock ups yet...i have been playing max payne 2 all night with max everything and it didnt lock up yet (fingers crossed) i dont know if this is just an issue with this lanparty nf2 ultra board or what.. has anyone experienced this with any nf2 ultra chipset, or is this mobo specifec prob?? just curious if any body else has probs with fast writes enabled or what....

Sounds good so far. I ran with fast writes on on both an NF7-S and my current IC7 with zero problems on my 9800np, but apparently some people do have issues...

Yeah, a lot of suggestions are to turn off fast writes in the BIOS and/or ATI Control Panel and set your AGP speed to 4X if necessary. I had to do both with my Asus P4PE to get my 9800 stable in it. However, I'm running the same card totally default (8X AGP and fast writes enabled) in my Abit IC7-Max3. Go figure!

Good luck with the new settings. I've been there so I feel your pain. Hope it fixes your problems.
