None are listed on newegg's site... wtf?

Can the 9800SE be modded to be a 9800 Pro? It has the same clock speeds right? Just 4 rendering pipelines instead of 8.

it could just be that newegg is backordered, because the sapphire 9800np was popular for obvious reasons :). i do not know about the modding possibilites of the 9800se, it could be that the pipelines are physically missing from the pcb, unlike with the 9500np.

Nice you could find that embedded link.
I was looking around and this seems to be out of stock all over the place (All Star Shop, Banana PC, Google Gear, Game VE, etc.). Do you think the recent goings on with Nvidia are convincing everyone to buy these now? Or could they be in the middle of a hardware change to prevent overclocking to Pro? (causes stampede to Newegg to order... :) )

That's strange it's out of stock everywhere...Maybe all the fx5900 owners are switching to ati? Or maybe it's getting phased out. Could the 9800 pro esentially become the 9800np? And the 9800xt become the 9800 pro?

It's not just out of stock, they've completely removed the "9800" from their list of video cards. There's just the 9800SE and 9800 Pro.

Yep, I think its no coincidence all the popular vendors had the 9800 NP in stock then the next day ALL of them don't have it listed it all. Looks like ATI might of gone around to all of them and got them to stop selling it. I can see why.. why spend the extra $50-100 for a Pro when you can get a NP and make it a Pro for free. :) But then again, AMD isn't pulling their 2500+ series because they can easily O/C to 3200+, so who knows.

I've noticed the same thing and was wondering what the heck was going on. I was trying to decide between the 9700 Pro, 9800, and 9800 Pro, but I guess that decision's been made.

I wonder if someone from ATI ever reads these boards... if they do... here's a message for ya... since I can't get the 9800 non-pro... I'm buying a FX5900 (non ultra) for $235 ... so F-U.

newegg sometimes removes products from their search list, but I've seen stuff added back a few days later. My guess is the 9800np will be added back in a few days

Who knows, it isn't just newegg, its everywhere. On Sunday I was browsing around for it and a ton of sites had it, the next day none of them had it, I guess we will see. If they get backordered and are out of stock, it should still be listed, it should just say its out of stock.

They must list it in the 9800SE category then, which would be the wrong thing to do because it's not an SE... because if you look here it's not listed like it use to be.

I don't know if it's necessarily listed in that category. I searched "9800 non pro" and it came up. When I did the same search yesteday though, I got nothing.
