So anyways with the price drop for nVidia cards with the launch of the 4850/4870 the 9800 GTXs will drop in price shortly to around $199 each (not to mention possible rebates) and the GTX+s are going to be $229 while the GTX 260 is going to stay at $399.
Seeing as how I already have an nForce mobo and assuming my power supply can handle them (I'm guessing not, but I wouldn't mind a psu upgrade either) would you folks choose a 260 or 2 9800 GTXs (also considering the gtx+ for the smaller die and therefore less heat)?

Wait a month and see what the prices are then.

I doubt the $399 price tag will stand for long once the 4870 is released in quantity.

In terms of performance, 2x9800GTX => GTX 280 in many games (wherever SLI scales well) but if/when PhysX gets implemented properly I have a feeling the true power of the GTX 260/280 will become evident.

Interesting point on the PhysX, highest res I'll be moving to is probably 1920x1200 or so thusly eliminating the ultra high res problems some cards, like the 9800 GTX might face, and I'll be waiting about a month or two for the price drops/new releases.
