9800 for a Ti 4200

I'm paying a friend $40 for his 9800 (from a Dell) and giving him my Ti4200 in return. Is this a good/fair deal? Thanks a lot. It costs him $130 extra, and I gave him a coupon of mine to shave $90 off.

I'd say you did get a HOT DEAL. Looks like the cash/coupon exchange makes it a financial wash (even), but you got a card that is worth about a hundred bucks more than the Ti4200.

It's difficult to find a GeForce4 Ti these days even though it destroys GeForce 5200 Ultra.
Quick look at Best Buy or Circuit City gets you $150 price for GeForce 5200 Ultra.

There are only two cards worth buying: the GeForce4 Ti 4200 and the Radeon 9800. Everything inbetween is simply not worth the money.
Your friend saved $130 and he got a GeForce4 Ti, I don't care what these jelous people tell you, both of you got a fantastic deal, no question about it.

I would take a $130 + GeForce4 Ti iin a heartbeat and invest the $ in other parts of the system.
On the other hand, I would also give $40 for an upgrade so it's a win-win any way you look at it.
