Well - I'm back for the heat of the moment.
I'm looking at getting a new graphics card and monitor. I play a lot of FPS as of late. (Pubg, squad, tarkov, etc.) I've been using my LG B7 for probably over a year straight as my only display for my computer (I know - burn-in bad). I'm burned out on 60hz and non-VRR. I've also had a 980 Ti for quite a while now. I'm burned out on an 980 Ti not even supporting 4k@60hz HDR.
I'm looking at getting the Asus PG279Q[Z] as the monitor. Main concern is having really good VRR, great image quality (not really an IPS fan because of IPS glow but what can you do), good image performance while doing VRR (I've heard of weird ghosting/overshoot issues with freesync VRR displays?), and >100hz image at >1080p resolution. 4k is probably overkill; I have a 4k display already. I play most games at 1080p on it anyway because the 980 ti can't keep >60fps for many titles beyond 1080p.
Graphics card wise I'm torn a bit. Seems like 1080 ti would be good if <$450. (harder to find with non-blower design for that price) 2070 Super is generally good for $500 but low stock everywhere. And 2080 Super seems to not really be worth the extra $200. I've considered biting the bullet for a long time and just getting the 2080 ti but they're hard to find for even $1000 these days and used prices aren't any lower than $900 (with most at $1000+). Double the price for not even 40% gain. Eh.
