I guess each has it's benefits. So choose the one you like. ME is like running Windows 98 3rd edition anyway.

I ran ME for a few weeks but I thought it was slow even after a blast with msconfig so I went back to SE.... 95B is fastest though, isn't it???

Win ME is exactly as its name implies: Windows Moron Edition.

Even the newbiest newbie can't harm anything (at least, that's what those guys at Redmond tried to do ;) ) but this also makes it impossible to use like a 'real' OS like Win2k. Worst thing is that ME is so enormously bloated and, on the system I installed it on, far more unstable than Win98 SE.

I'd prefer Win98 over WinME.

Or WinME "Windows Might Explode",anyway stay with Win98 or go over to Win2000 ,there are still bugs & it needs better support from both hardware & software.

i tried WinME on and off for a month. I found it to be crap, although i loveee the fast boot.

Win98 SE all the way

I installed Me about 2 months ago, I've had one crash. That's compared to the 3 a day I had with 98 and 98SE. I'll stick with WinMe (dual boot with Win2k)

Windows 98 SE is the best and my system runs very well with it installed on it. Windows ME uses more resources and runs slower.

I tried Windows Money Eater, and it was all right, but no reason to switch over. Windows 98/SE are the best, IMO. Very stable and fast on my puter!

I don't know why all you guys are so against it (well most of you...) I find it is More STABLE and FASTER than 98se (atleast on my system...) It does seem kinda newbie-ish though... But I still like it.. so ;) have fun!

Yes, i think the best thing that ran good on WinMe was the uninstall....in my opinion use Win98Se, faster and not as buggy.
Also, i use Media Player 6 instead of 7, 7 is really a resource killer!

Windows ME is fine by me.
If you had to live with win95 you wouldn't whinge so much. Win2000 works but it sucks memory and is kinda boring- doesn't play most of my games. ME does everything and has that wonderful system restore. If you are an inveterate fiddler like me then you'd really appreciate a few mouse clicks and two minutes to recover a system to a state just like up to a week ago. It really works! If you need more speed then disable system restore. That worked quite well in speeding up my OC PII233.
People who don't like WinME are usually snobs, ill informed, or place too much emphasis on their own crap anecdotes.

ME is still somewhat buggy, the next edition of ME will have the majority of the bugs worked out. I plan to wait till then before I switch over to it, untill then I'll be sticking with 98SE.

Running Win98se on the computer I use.
Running WinME for my sibling's computer.
Will be running Win2k on my new machine.

WinME is ok, for my siblings. The one feature I liked was that it automatically recognized my Kodak DC265 digital camera without having to install any drivers. In addition, copying the files under WinME's shell was much faster than through the Kodak drivers I use on my Win98se machine.
