Please tell me you draw a living doing this and it's not just a hobby. If not, you are one dedicated hardware junkie 🙂 That case looks pretty cool, too.

I realize this doesn't address your question, because I have no idea, but what do you do with this stuff when you get sick of it? Seems like you get a lot of new things passing through, do you just ebay it afterwards? Back when I was running a tech site, I used to amass a closet full of this stuff then give it all away. It wasn't exactly efficient.

.

i am a hardware junkie. 😛

And on times i give out my stuff to family after i get bored of it, or pass it to my friends.

Im benching her now..

Its scary it holds linpack with HT ON @ 4040mhz @ 1.37Vcore.

D0 is looking good, i'll push her more later when i have some more time that free's up.

Any guesses on what her max OC will be at 1.5Vcore?

give me the VID and cpuid and i can tell you the answer before you even do any testing 😉

i see they fixed the tagging error. i might be the only person running an i7 9750 at home.

Ain't gonna last too long at 1.5 volts at any speed.

I believe I saw a Nordic hardware site with a guy on a standard 920 at 4.1+ Ghz at 1.25 volts. Hard to top that.

And I ain't jealous 🙂

How are temps though? Any cooler then a 965 C0 @ 4040 with 1.37v?

The exact same TDP.

I doubt its going to do any better than 4.4 Ghz, that someone on XS has already done with a lowly 920 C0.

Yeah, my thoughts too. IIRC, aigo had his 965 at around 1.45v running 4.2ghz? It would be nice to see this chip run closer to 4.4mhz at similar voltages and temps.

I've done 920 at 4.2 Ghz at 1.40 volts, but backed off because it was pointless pushing it so hard for hours.

4040:

I think she can do more without the need of voltage, i saw that voltage number dip a few times to like 1.35v

I dont have time to do hardcore testing right now, the little fun time i have was putting it in to check for DOA.

Give me til friday, i'll be all up for you guys. 😛

Initial remarks tho...

Wait for D0, aigo likes a lot. 😛

don't forget all the work that went into telling you which clocks to delay lol

LOL that will come next ruby... dont worry...

Lemme break her in first....

EDIT:
Linpack Passed... You guys can see my vdroop after this pass picture:

Gonna take the vcore lower in a bit... Lets see if i can make Iany somewhat impressed

😛

It's a wafer not an engine so there is no break in!
105% WOT yesterday! (I drive engineers crazy talking this stuff but of course they MUST run things in.)

Why aren't you using a chiller to drop your loop temps to ambient dewpoint yet? 😛

Not finished yet...

Hmmm so what's the verdict? Looks like D0 is worth waiting for? Looks like you're hitting 4GHz ~1.38V, which seems to be a good 0.1V lower than similarly clocked C0. I've got a sealed 920 C0 here, but if D0 is good for similar clocks at much lower voltage, I'd wait until next week to exchange it.

My p6T has better vdroop control. :

Im on 1.275 right now... gonna see if i can get 1.225

Verdict? unless your C0/C1 is a cherry, the D0 will make you very sad.
