I just got a 9700 Pro. I have an Athlon Xp 2000+ thoroughbred (I have Athlon 2800 64 w/ motherboard coming).

I downloaded the HL2 demo and didn't adjust any settings... so I am not sure what they are on. The game didn't run very smooth.. it was somewhat smooth, but any bit of fighting got it laggy..

Would this be the cause from my processor? I have 768mb of ram BTW.

My current motherboard supports up to 4x agp, but I don't think that matters much.

Anyway just wandering! 🙂
 
I suggest selling one stick of your PC2700 and using the other until you get a PC3200 then sell the other one the moment you get it so you can have 2x PC3200 sticks. PC2700 will really bottleneck ya.

It doesn't cost that much more either.
 
The computer I am on right now, which is at my mom's house.. has 3200 ram. Heh. Who knows.. I might end up switching them..
