9700 Pro owners, how can you tell what revision?

Did a quick search but didn't find any info. Just wondering how you could tell, I didn't see any revision markings on the PCB. What are the differences between the revisions?

I'm upgrading from a Ti4200 Turbo, its my first ATI since the 8500. I'll post my thoughts later on once everything's up and running. I got it at BB for $315+tax, perfect way for me to unload all my GC's.

The newer revision 1.3+ supposedly fixes AGP8x issues on certain motherboards. However not all 1.1 & 1.2 had issues, so YMMV.

(Tates supplied this info)

There are four versions: 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 & 1.3

On the back of the card is a sticker with SN & P/N.

The P/N is a 2 segment number. At the end of the first series of numbers, the last 2 numbers relate the version:

S/NXXXXXXXXXXX

P/N 10294206XX 064259 where 10=1.0, 11=1.1, 12=1.2, 13=1.3

BTW, the issue with AGP8x...the performance difference vs. AGP4x is negligible.

Excellent, just what I was looking for, thanks. Except the result wasn't what I was looking for 😀 Looks like I got a 1.0 (made in Canada though, so I don't think its a Sapphire). Yah I'm not worried about 8x vs. 4x performance (negligible), but if it doesn't play nice-nice with my A7N8X, its going back to BB until I get one that does 🙂

John,

"BTW, the issue with AGP8x...the performance difference vs. AGP4x is negligible"

I agree that the difference is negligible and I have no idea why people are 1) concerned with its' function 2) upgrading thier whole system because of this. 3) blaming the card over everything else in thier system.

This is from personal experience that I have customers wanting to upgrade because of 8X AGP.

So far so good....got the cat 3.0's and DX9.0 installed. I did a full install and set-up my RAID as well...took longer than I wanted it to 🙁 I must say I am really impressed with this card's 2D. Haven't run any games yet, but the 2D is much better than the 8500 and the GF4's.....I didn't think they could improve anymore but they certainly have 😀 Gonna install a few games and run some of those demos in a sec.

My P/N reads 1029420630 067457, not 10, 11, 12 or 13...what's up with that?

Also, the sticker says its Made in China...blah...
