9700 pro for 100$ a good deal?

Got a friend with a 9700 pro he's had for about a year and wants to sell it. I'm wanting an upgrade, just not sure how far. 100$ doesn't seem to bad for it. It is used, but I know him and he doesn't overclock it. What do you think?
 
That's a good price for a nice card. You'll be able to play Half Life and Doom3 at decent res without aa/af at decent fps I think.
 
Thats exactly what im looking for right now. Damn prices are too high still on Pricewatch ($158 new) and arent worth it in comparison to a $292 6800.

No you won't. However $100 is a good deal so if that's the limit of your budget then go for it.

9700 Pro can pull 40+ fps in Doom 3, so yes...it can. 🙂

heh.. i was about to sell my 9700pro to my friend for $100, til i realized nobody had the x800 in stock for me to buy. at a reasonable price that is 🙁
 
I also got a 9700 pro for $100 from a friend; just back from RMA.

Granted, since my main system has a 9800Pro AIW I didn't really need it but for $100 I couldn't pass it up.
 
100 bucks is a killer insane price. Online retailers sell them for 170 - around there. I wouldn't even sell mine for 100 bucks. What are you upgrading from?

if a 9700pro can't run D3 and HL2 well then they aren't going to sell that many games are they? heck not many people even have a 9700 caliber of a card
