wow that almost explained what kind of artifacting you are getting...gg...

my case temp is 90-100 and cpu temp is 110-120. i have 3 fans. one in rear, one on hard drive, one on the side of case for video card.

Sounds like you may have damaged your memory running too high of an o/c. Not that it helps now (sorry), but you should run default when not gaming. I'm not sure if improved cooling would help. I know a few threads I've read people reinstall the HSF applying AS3 or using better cooling (Zalman HP w/ fan) will solve artifacting problems at default, but I think in those cases it was not memory run too high an o/c for too long.

Overclock the core seperately from the mem. If it artifacts on core overclock only, then your fan is either slowly dieing or the core is not making good contact with the hs/fan unit.

you might try cleaning the hs/fan if it happens only on a core overclock. Removing the shim and using ASIII instead of the TIM material may be an option.

I agree about the HSF unit ...

Mine had the same problem at low OC

Re-applied mine recently with lapped crystal orb

went from 360 to 369

.... those shims are the problem, remove it !

well thanks all for your help. i had to underclock my video card to 290. it did the trick for right now

Way to try and help dude...

I would guess that it has the EntronTech (sp?) 2.8 memory. I saw a 9700 pro that would run artifact free only if the memory was set at ~295. Putting it at 310 would mess up the picture in the nature scene of 3Dmark01. Search the web for 9700 Entrontech and you will find a lot of comments.
