I'm trying to decide on a 965 board for a qx6700 CPU. I'm not an overclocker, just want something fast and stable. Would a 965 be OK to run that CPU? I've read a few articles that suggest that the 975x chips can handle the 4MB (x2) cache better then the 965 boards, but I don't know why. Can anyone explain this?

I believe the Asus P5B Deluxe will handle it.

That said, if you're willing to send that much on a CPU, why not spend another $50 for a 975 board?

Yeah, I know what you're saying, but it's not a cost thing. I just thought it would be kinda cool to use Intel's latest chipset.

975 is the higher end chipset for a reason . . .

Anyone else have an opinion? Should I forget about 965+qx6700 and just go with a 975x board?
