Think i've been cursed or something. I get a product with good reviews and they underperform on me.
My ATi 9600XT cannot even run NFSUnderground at 1024 x 768 resolution. it starts getting cracky. I've got the catalyst 4.10 drivers installed.
Even my old Geforce4 MX440 could run it better at 1024x768 resolution but without the eyecandy and stuff (Motion blur bla bla bla) so why can't the better 3x more expensive card do a lot better. anyway that's that

My Tt Xaser 560Watts PSU is also messing up. When the comp is under load, Asus probe goes bezerk cause my 12v rail hits 12.608, idling it's at 12.48. And my 5v rail gets as low as 4.865 under load and idles at 4.945.
shouldn't be expecting this from a Tt PSU thinking of RMAing but then i'll be without a PC for about 2weeks, don't have a Multimeter so can't check on the voltages.
Enough ranting for now

If you are going to try RMA tell them that you have some College work or something that has to be completed and that being without your computer could cause you to faill...

Request that they send out a new PSU and your old one can be picked up at the same time

hope the rant has made you feel better :)

seriously, I wouldn't be over concerned about the under/over voltages you're seeing, they're all within tolerance of +/- 5% so unless you're experiencing problems I wouldn't worry.

on the game front, there are others more knowlegeable but I suspect you should be looking at examining what's loading in the background (I'd dispense with ASUS probe for example) and perhaps you need to make sure that you've removed all trace of the nvidia drivers before doing a remove/reinstall of the ATI catalyst drivers.

hope this helps

the gf4 was actually installed on my old computer so there are no traces of nvidia drivers on this comp.
12.608 is not actually wihin the +5% range which is why i'm getting quite worried. and i thot Tt psus are actually of the highest quality so there should be no flunctuations.
dunno tho, PSUs are not my specialty, i just read somewhere that if u're gonna get a psu it is essential it's from a known brand

Hmmmm....my thermaltake 480Watt Purepower series is running just fine in my rig.

And if i remember correctly, the NFS underground game has some performance issues with ATI cards, which would explain why it runs almost as well on your mx440.
