Was looking for a new card when I came across this 9600GT on amazon.com with a free copy of COD4 included. I think it's a steal being 119AR and with the free shipping and free COD4 it's hard not to buy !
9600GT!

thanks, these cards all getting so much cheaper now. But I have to say at 100-150 range I'd save up and go for a 4850 at this point.

No doubt that the HD4850 is the TI4200 of this generation, but this is a good deal for someone in a hurry and on a budget. Especially considering the $50 price tag of COD4 is included.

I bought COD4 for $37 shortly after launch, if you paid $50 you were being impatient.

Definitely have to agree with that. Somehow I always end up getting those types of cards...

Ti4200 x 3 -> 6800GS -> HD4850

Yep, those are the "point of diminishing returns" cards. A few months ago it was the 9600GT. I got mine for 109.00. Still, except for crysis (which I have no desire to play) it will run every game I have, maxed out at 16x12, which is as high as my monitor will go. So at this point, there is no reason to upgrade. But, the next big decision is whether to buy another 9600GT for sli or get a 4850 and move the 9600 to the HTPC.

This is actually a pretty hot deal. COD4 is a great game and if you don't already have it, that's a nice bonus! Should play well on that card as well.

$30 more will get you the phenomenal HD4850. Which happens to be the best bang for the buck right now 😛

not to mention no heat issues with the 9600gt. however, if you are a gamer then a 4850 is probably a better buy. however, if you dont game much or play games at lower resolutions then a 9600gt will suffice. not only is it cheaper but itll consume less energy and run cooler with even the stock fan. I have a Zalman Fatal1ty FC-ZV9 on my 9600gt thats in my htpc and i can OC to 800+ core clock, 2.0ghz+ shader, and 1150 on RAM (2300 effective). Keep in mine the stock core is set at 650mhz. This OC brings it past 8800gt performance in games.

Amazon deal? Me too. I laugh the card still goes for more!

No, it was newegg and free shipping too! They have the MSI OCed versions open box for 109.00 right now. They are almost always full retail boxes that are cosmetically damaged (the box, not the card). When they drop to the 60-70.00 range, I'll get another one for my sli board. Plus, they run nice and cool and they OC well. All in all, a great card.
