I'm thinking most people would say the Impala - it is significantly faster isn't it? The thunderbird looks a tad faster, but looks don't mean jack when you're flooring it 🙂 The Impala looks like a pimp mobile. Perhaps you like that? I kinda do 🙂

I would go with the T-Bird, if it's got the V8 or the Supercharged engine...Stay away from the six, IMHO.

With out a doubt the Impala trust me you'll want the IMPALA! What color Black has the higher production rate so it's easier to find if you can find one and then burgendy(SP?) the the best is the ghost green (clipso green) Hard to find here like the dodo if you can find one get it and hold on.

Trust me you'll love it.

The 96 Impala will outrun just about any Audi out there. An Audi will handle a lot better though😉

I just think the Impala SSs look bad ass and they have enough grunt to match it's beautiful bark.

Well me and the wife owned a 94 V8 Tbird. And the years 94-96 are pretty unreliable. Those years had transmission and brake problems. We had a transmission problem. It was pretty quick, really nice features with moon roof, and totally decked out. I believe the last year for that model the 97 was pretty good. So if you go with Tbird be prepared for possiible problems.

I think 0-60 on the Tbird is like 7 seconds or so isn't it? Whereas the Impala SS is mid or low 6's? Somebody correct...

Have you looked at 93 or 94 Lincoln Mark VIII? More power than the t-bird, a nicer interior, great ride quality and not too expensive. It puts out 280hp stock and with a superchip which can easily be installed and which cost under $300 you'll be running around 305-310.

dude theres no replacement for displacement, and the 350 is the easiest and cheapest motor on the planet to hop up to more power.

The later fords had the 32v cobra engines slightly detuned in them. okay but no 350

My dads 96 t-bird 4.6l auto has 260k miles on it and has had no major problems yet. You just have to flush the trans when you are suppost to or you get a shudder going into second. I have heard about other people warping rotors right and left on t-birds but we haven't had that problem. Even though ours has been the best car we have ever owned I think I would still go for the Impalla SS. Whats the blue book on the SS.

Umm.. the SC version is a 3.8l V6.

I would KILL for a nice '96 Impala, but expect to pay a LOT of $$$ for it, ~20k for a decent specimen. They are very collectible, and the few people that are selling them know that. There's a NICE dark cherry one w/35k on it in my neighborhood.. for $23k.. 😱

Bang for the buck? Get a TBird.. AND if you can find a nice SC Coupe, snag it, fun cars to drive!

Want to really have fun? Get a Turbo Buick! 😀

you know all the tru playahs n pimpz are rolling impala's on dubs..

yo watch mtv cribs for some prime examples. gotta have dvd two or three lcd tv screenss, playstation (2) etc..

hope ur not white, or some brother will gank your car.

Yes expect to pay atleast 19K for a IMPALA with around 50K miles if it a green one buy buy buy, if it's black or burgandy take your pick.

the stock Impala only has 260 HP but a few mods your up over 300, the only difference between the vette and impala is 4 door cast iron heads and is de-tuned. The pluses it eats mustangs, comaros(stock), has 4 doors, very roomy looks bad as hell at night (with phil collins "In the Air tongiht" it's a mental thing) and could be confused as a police car so you pick.

Send it to Lingenfelter Performance and you can inject about 400 hp out of it for an extra 12K. 😎

Impala SS specs:

260hp @ ~5k rpm
330lb/ft @ ~2.5k rpm (torque motha!)

0-60 in 6.9 seconds (caddy STS w/300hp does it in only 6.8)
Quarter mile in 14.9 seconds

With just a shift kit, you could chirp the tires going into third, wide open throttle, at almost 60mph. You were saying something about pep? 😉

Impala SS in a dark color without a doubt. Good hiway mileage, ok in city if driven conservatively. All other reasons already mentioned. Best reason, it doesnt say Ford anywhere on it. 🙂
