96 Ford Escort

Hey guys. I have recently just bought a 96 Ford Escort and the check engine light has come on. I just got back from Autozone checking the problem code, which is 1443. I have been looking through google, but I don't know if I am searching wrong for it or just not using the wrong words. Either way...anybody know anything about the code? Or where there is a list?

Sorry, my forte is computers, not cars.

Hmm...I have access to ALLDATA Online and it doesn't list 1443 as an error code. I am kind of suprised Autozone couldn't have told you more about the specific code. You could always contact Ford.

Yeah, it is p1443, forgot the p. Sorry. I have found that it is the EVAP Purge Flow System. It said it is often a loose gas cap, but I know I always put that on tight. It also said to check for pinched, blocked, cracked, or disconnected vapor hoses between the fuel tank and carbon canister.

I'm going to probably do that tomorrow. This should be fun.

No naked frog, not there....don't know why.
