Nice cpu's but will the motherboards be able to handle them without melting and throttling etc?

"This CPU is only compatible with the following 990FX motherboards:

ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z, GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD7 and ASRock 990FX Extreme9."

The short list.

Cooling Device : Liquid Cooling Kit

Nice price for those two, you get 4.4GHz and 4.7GHz, 3 years Warranty and WC kit.

FX9370 is $89.00 higher than FX8350 but it also has a 10% higher base Frequency and Water Cooling Kit. I can recommend this one right now.

greatly improved, buying the OEM CPUs for the release price was insane, the current pricing + cooler + warranty is a huge improvement, it can be a nice CPU to have if you like some rarer CPUs, have a high end AM3+ and there is nothing faster...

but I still think it's not as good deal as some random 4770k + cheaper MB (since it's 84 vs 220w)

and even just looking at AMD, the price difference to the same CPUs with lower clock (8320-8350) is considerable.

No it is not, FX9370 has a Water Cooling Kit + 10% higher clocks and only costs $89 more than FX8350. For example, Corsair H80i costs $79,99 at newegg.

Newegg still has the FX8350 at $199,99, for $89.00 more you get 10% higher clocks and a very effective Water Cooling kit.

Edit: Im sure the FX9370 can be used with every AM3+ 9xx Chipset motherboard like the ASUS M5A97 R2.0.

yes it is, is the included cooler exactly the corsair h80i? I can see some cheaper WCs,
and the 8320 can run at 4.4GHz right?

Will be good if they revise these in order to reduce their power consumption. Anyway WC will reduce it a bit.

Yes the the 8320 can run at 4.4GHz but it would require much more volts making it run hotter than a 9370.

Looks similar to a H80.

Heh... at $389 I would have been tempted to grab a 9590. I thought I got one at that price, about, but Amazon put the brakes on that (this was near the CPU's launch). :(

SlowSpyder how is your 9370 build progressing? I'd say 9590 is just a tad bit better chip than what you got, both would probably top out at similar clock and you are almost guaranteed to run your stable at 4.7Ghz just by changing the multi in bios.

I wouldn't want it for a practical reason other than this may be the fastest and last chip AM3+ sees (I'm holding out hope for SR on AM3+, but realistic).

Getting a little help from a friend with the build. :)

Looks happy in it's home!

Koolance installed

I'm actually further along with it, but that's all the pics I have here. I wanted to finish it Saturday, install the pump, mount the radiator and get it up and running. But I suddenly and very unexpectedly have a funeral to go to Saturday. :'( We'll see how Sunday goes... I hope to have benches for everyone soon enough! :)

The Water Cooler that comes with the FX line of CPUs is the same as Antec Kuhler 920 ($116,99 at the egg).

FX8350 + Kuhler 920 = 199,99 + 116,99 = $316,98

FX9370 + WC = $289,00 = Faster and Cheaper = win win ;)

so it's not that bad BUT, is it really worth that money (compared to other options)? buying the 8320 for $160 or the 8350 for $200 would give you 90 or 130 for cooling, could you do better than the kuhler 920 with that money?
