9500P and Doom 3

Ok so I have a 9500Pro and saw the specs required for Doom 3 which said that a 9800Pro is the recommendation. Because i really don't give a crap about AA/AF and all that stuff which gives people strokes when they have 2 fps lower than the next guy, I don't strive for the 300+ dollar video cards...

All I'm wondering is if I'll be able to play this game with my 9500Pro at 1024x768, dynamic lighting off, no AA/AF, on med-high settings...I played Far Cry at those settings and didn't seem to have a problem with staying above 30fps (only thing i dont think i had on high was water effects?).

Sorry if my lack of desire for the best possible settings offends you, but please refrain from flaming...I've just been wondering if maybe i should upgrade to a 9800 Pro or if my busted up lil card has the power to put out...Also i've never overclocked my 9500Pro so if that's another possibility?

Other specs:
2.4g P4
1g pc 2700

I am sure you'll be able to play it, just not sure what kind of FPS you will be getting. Once the x800 are readily available you should be able to get a 9800 pro or xt for a good bargain, especially a second hand one.

you'll probably be able to get 25-40 fps with your Farcry settings. I have a 9700pro and am confident that I'll get in the 30s with some AF and high settings.

Going for a 9800p upgrade route is actually very practical with your current rig.

With FarCry, D3 and HL2 and other games heavy on d3d rendering:
1. least demanding: particles, water (at first i thought otherwise)
2. most demanding: shaders, shadows, lighting
