The color of the PCB makes no difference -- only the configuration of the memory chips.

It doesn't really make a difference on the color of the pcb, some people who have gotten a 9500np with black pcb but with a L config have softmodded it fine, you can read up at hardocp, hardforums.com

If you look at more pictures on Googlegear for this, it's not in "L" shaped. Be careful!

Hmmmm. My 3d marks soared. No artifacts detected from artifact tester, but my Windows Media player shows about a dozen black pixels in a fixed pattern. Real Player has no artifacts. Anyone else get them? I am using Omega drivers and the guy from Omega has heard of the problem.

Just a word of caution -- I received mine today from enet, but it didn't have "L" shaped memory. It was the "I" type memory that you see on the 9500 Pro cards.

Yes that is the card that you will receive. Thanks for your interest.

Sales at Connect 3D

Looks like it's a pretty for sure deal that you will have better than 1/2 a chance of doing a succesful soft~mod on this card.

Although, I'm still sitting on the sidelines. I'm sure It'll be gone/OS before I finally pull the trigger. Arrrrrrggghhhh..

the odd thing is another member sent them an email. They responded saying it was not the L shaped configuration...I'll be another guinea (sp?) pig...got one this morning...at least with Connect3d I'll have the reassurance of warranty repairs, 2 year warranty on their retail cards.

OK, I pulled the trigger. Fry's took back the geforce 5200, no questions asked. So I will give this a shot for the kids computer. Hopfuly this will be a step up from the card they have now, a 64mb geforce 4 mx 420. btw that card is almost as fast as the 5200 after a bit of tweaking.

I got the L shaped card from enet... but the Omega softmod is not working (windows device failure every time i try) so you guys have any ideas as to how to RMA this non-moddable board?? It does flicker when in dos (command prompt box or a low res text window such as system bios).... I could try complaining about that??

Hey guys, I also ordered from connect3d and then I emailed them to make sure that it was the "L" config and this is the email I got,

"Hello,

My Order ID is: XXXX, and I have a question. I ordered the Connect3D P/N: 6022 - Radeon 9500 128MB and under "View the card" a picture shows that the card has a "L" shaped Ram Configuration. Can you please let me know if the card you are shipping is indeed in that configuration.

Thanks"

And the reply

"The memory shape is in an L shaped (meaning two chips on the long side of the board and two chips on the short side of the board).

Thanks for your help and thank you for your business

Best Regards,
Mike Walsh
Connect3D

Hope this helps, I will update as soon as I get the card.

Why not just say it did not meet your expectations about performance and stability? From the way I read the return policy, it does not look like there has to be anything wrong with the card to get an rma number.

"Return Policy
All Products purchased via Connect3D Inc?s Online store can be returned within 30 days of the order, for a full refund of the purchase, minus all shipping costs. Please reply to your order confirmation email, expressing your intentions and an RMA Number will be given. PRODUCT RETURNED WITHOUT AN RMA NUMBER WILL BE SENT BACK! The board being returned must be in resalable condition and include all materials including the outer box, CDs, cables, and any manuals that shipped with the product or credit will not be given and the product will be returned back to customer."
