9500 Pro Studdering....still

kilmanjaro

I have problems with my 9500 Pro. While trying to play Rallisport, the game studders to the point that it's basically unplayable. I've read so many threads on rage3d and they all seem to say to install the Cat3.0a's and it'll work just fine. Problem is that I'm already running the Cat 3.0a's. I'm now on a fresh reformat with DX9 and Cat3.0a's and I've still got this incredibly annoying problem. Is anyone else having this problem, even with the new driver??? This is seriosly making me upset to purchase a card that's supposed to be better than a 4200, but it studders like it's a TNT2.

Specs:
P4 1.8A @ 2.4
Epox 4G4A+
512 Meg Corsair XMS2700
Sapphire 9500 Pro 128 Meg
Hercules Game Theater XP 7.1
WD 80gb SE
Antec 430W TruPower
WinXP SP1
DX9

Nothing is running in the background that could cause this. No IM, antivirus, file-sharing, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions? They would be much appreciated.

the only thing i can think of is that you didnt mention ram. You should have 512. becoming the standard now a days.

Is it just that game? It is a port of a console title. You know how buggy gta3 was and probably still is. I'm assuming your talking about rallisport challenge.

Use 3DAnalyser and use the "remove stutter" option. Works like a charm. I believe this is inherent in the game regardless of which video card and/or drivers.

I hope you have better luck with this program than I did. When I tried to use it for UT 2K3, not only did it not remove my stuttering, but then I could no long run the game without 3DAnalyzer.

What type of stuttering? Is it because of harddisk loading during gameplay? Check if your hdd led rapidly blinks during gameplay. If it does, try defragging your harddrive. I believe this game doesnt really require you to have 512mb of RAM unlike UT2003, BF1942, NOLF2, etc. Anyway if its not that type of hiccups, well I can say that the game really asks too much of a videocard. I have this game and been playing it for quite some time and I really adjust the visual settings quite often just to make the quality and performance improve. Check the review at pc.ign.com and its says that the game still suffers even from a gf4. Too bad for us pc gamers coz i've seen this run fluidly on an xbox. Maybe this was a quite poor port.
