Ok, Ive found a 9500 sapphire red pcb with 3.3infineon gdram 128m. Its $150. White box.

Ive almost talked my self into buying a 5900 albetron, gainward,or evga from newegg. Now I find this and Im a little confused.

If I buy this card I will have to replace it with one that can take input from DirectTV and allow him to attempt to burn DVD movies.
So what is a good card to get for him? Its my stepdad and he doesnt like gaming. So should I buy it or stick to my 5900 plan.

Get the Albatron 5900 that?s got VIVO and all the cables that will be required and like you said he doesn?t use it for games so at the moment a card with all the right plugs would be the best choice to get plus the Nvidia Nview is allot better then the ATI thing for Video control ..

If you cant get the Albatron just grab one of the other FX5900 cards with VIVO. make sure they have VIVO or at least the plugs you will be using.

You may want to get a Geforce4Ti4200 with VIVO or get an ATI9200 with VIVO or All in wonder they will be cheaper and do the same job why spend all that money for nothing.

and last but not least the FX5900 will blow the ATI 9500 to hell and back in gaming and overall speed. but it does run allot hotter and will make the whole system run hotter !! :)

if you're 9500 won't softmod.. you're stuck with a $150 card that's around 3-4x slower than a geforcefx 5900
not worth it... 5900 is the clear choice here
