95 to 98 upgrade problems

Updated a friends 95 computer to 98 (upgrade version of 98, not clean format and reinstall, would have been way too much trouble with some of the programs he has on there). I also upgraded his office to 2k professional.
For some reason, the icons on his desktop magically start arranging themselves and moving all over the place. When I reboot, it goes away, but then will sometimes start happening again. ANyone ever see this before?

It was originally on, but I switched it off. Didnt check it again after it started acting up again. I will look tonite.
 
Sounds like a virus. If the icon moves when you mouse to it, im sure it is. AVG antivirus took care of it for a friend of mine.
 
Yep, did the search after I posted. Just updated PC cillen and sure enough, found 10 infected files/programs. Thanks for your help, you were right on the $$$
