Is it known for sure that the prices will be dropping?? I'm very tempted to pull the trigger on this, but i'd prefer it from newegg.

3000 and 3200 S939s are due by the end of the year and they'll probably be in the 175 dollar price range for the low-end.

Good things come to those who wait - but if you can't go right ahead on this deal - at least by then PCI-E and DDR2 will be better-seated.

This is a thread from July 2004 so if you're reading this later, things have changed (or about to) again....

im kinda glad that i didnt get the AMD EPP or the deal @ CBWstores, because it looks like we will see alot better prices out there. make me kind of wonder if there are 90nm parts out there. im pretty sure they would have lowered manufacturing costs if they made the jump. monarch is a great company, ive order with them twice, and i will personally vouch for them.

Didn't they already do the end of August price drops EARLY? They had a price drop a few weeks ago and I assumed it was just the end of August cuts done early. Why are you thinking they are having more cuts?

I think they're just going to introduce lower speed A64s instead of dropping the price on the currently available procs. So don't get too depressed, RadioHead84. ;)

I just want more MicroATX A64 options.

Nforce 250Gb MicroATX board with either socket would be great ... then I'll get into the A64 world.
I can only find the older Nforce 150s and non-Pro Vias in MicroATX form factor

I don't want to need to spend $300 on a SFF case and motherboard combo to get it either. I just want to drop it into one of my existing microATX cases.

There's never a good time to buy. computers depreciate so fast... and there's always the next thing around the corner.

More news posted re: the Intel changes and still, talking about expected AMD response. Nobody is going to complain about two price shifts (down that is) in so many months!

"As expected, Intel did not lower pricing of its Pentium 4 Extreme Edition that still cost $999 and $925 in business quantities for 3.40GHz and 3.20GHz versions respectively.

Intel Corp.?s arch-rival Advanced Micro Devices is expected to reduce pricing of its chips later this week, a month after the company has performed certain manipulations with its pricing."
