It will give me a good bump in performance over my current XP 2800+ clocked @ 2.2ghz, thats for sure!

Then again serious over clocking can be investment in and of itself!

Meh.. Get a thermalright XP it's basically poor mans water cooling. From what I've seen normal water rig with a single 120mm rad is not any better. I have two 120mm rads are do about the same.

939 for 2 big reasons - overclocking and dual core. 50% overclocks are not too rare with a 3000+, and 3500+s can hit 2.7GHz just about guaranteed. Dual core will make for a nice upgrade, too, even if you wait till socket M2 takes over, cause then 939 chips will be really cheap, and still way faster than your single core.

If you don't plan to OC, the ASUS A8V Deluxe is a rock stable 939 board. I've built two of these in recent months.

They don't OC nearly as well as my K8N Neo2 board, but for a non overclocking board, that would be my first choice.

How much longer do you think the 754 will be in existance? I need to build some for a school (my labor free) to save them money. They don't want something that will be unable to get parts for in the coming couple of years. No overclocking! Needs to be a good board though as it is used all day almost everyday in a tech lab. They have simulators being used and such. The head tech person said they don't want sempron. So, is the 754 still being phased out and how long will it take??????
