True, but on the flipside, the fine print on the retail AMD 64's say the warranty is voided if you don't use the stock heatsink.

I have yet to find anything that won't.

(I would imagine it depends more on you OS than the 64 vs. 32-bit hardware difference. Both XP and Mandrake Linux 10.0 for AMD64 seem to rock on the new machine, although I'm the newb on the Linux. With XP, at least, you can always emulate older versions of Windows for really old apps that wouldn't normally run on XP.)

Do you mean they only have a 30 day warranty from retailer? You should always be able to RMA one back to Manufacturer.

No, the OEM CPU's only have a 30 day warranty from the Manufacturer (AMD). This is nothing new and its always been this way!

Actually the EE has gone down in price, however there is no way I am buying this that offers 10% more performence over a $150 processor.
