I was just watching the debate on C-span, or some station like that. I can say that debate was alot more interesting than that spectacle we had a few nights ago. That Perot guy was hilarious. He was talking about schools and kids not actually having classes but doing extra things going on like sports and 4H. He sited one example of a kid showing a chicken in some 4H shows and missing 30+ days of school to do it, he said the only way they got the kid to come back to school was when the chicken lost all it's feathers.

It makes me wonder what type of president Perot could have been. I think he probably would have been a breath of fresh air. Also watching that debate, any one of those candidates had more personality than both these current candidates put together.

Perot was too funny....I was watching that too. They also had the Gore vs Bush debate of 2000.

Perot whooped up on both Bush Sr. and Clinton in that debate IMO. I really think it would have been interesting to see Perot at a U.N. conference. Foreign leaders around the world wouldn't be able to understand him, even after two or three rounds of translation.

Perot really did add a lot to add new blood to our dieing electoral system. Nader and Perot get my utmost respect for that.

Perot would have done better than his 19% or so if he hadn't picked that non-sentient Stockdale for his running mate.

Now that Stockdale debate was hilarious. What'd he open his debate with, something like "Who am I, why am I here?" That was classic.

One of Phil Hartman's greatest skits was his playing Stockdale to Carvey's Perot.

Admiral Stockdale's most glaring shortcomings in that particular debate were misinterpretation and preparedness. Those words, "who am I, why am I here", actually alluded to stoicism. Unfortunately, impressions are everything, and 99.99% of those watching could not interpret his true intentions. At the time, he should have been on faculty at a university instead of behind a podium debating two more agile, career con artists 20 years younger in age.

Perot's comment to the effect of "You're right, I don't have experience running up a 4 trillion dollar deficit" was absolutely hilarious.

I seen an interview with Stockdale a year or so ago, it was alot better than the impression I had of him from the debate. I don't even think back then I knew he was a military guy.
