It seems to me that China would have motivation against Islamic fundamentalists from Afganistan. They directly border the nation, and have shown no tolerance for religiosity, especially that which could destabilize their own power over thier people. Ive heard (a little not much) saying they have problems with these terrorist organizations as well.

you wonder if they are set to get into the action and flex thier muscles for the world as well?

Well, now I hope you see how absurd your original statement was. In a time of national tragedy, every American should bond together and fight for the American cause. At a time like this, I despise people who put their own political agenda in front of the American interest. That seems to be what you are doing here, it is quite obvious that your goal is to make China an enemy of US, so in turn you get to see China weakened or Taiwan gaining independence, etc. But you fail to realize that by making China an enemy of US right now, it is going to harm US significantly. No American would want to witness his/her country harmed. So what you did, UT4EVER, is very selfish and very unAmerican!

The reason China wants Taiwan is not to save face or for economic prowness. It's just a tiny nation. If they do take over, all the investors would pull out and it's be just another island. The reason China wants Taiwan is a military one. The US protects Taiwan because they view Taiwan as a missile lanch pad. If China flinnnches, the US can nuke them from 100 miles away. The Chinese simply don't want guns pointed their way from so close. (don't mistake me for a fan of Red China, simply stating the facts)

Even though I hate the Communist Party in China and find them to be one of the most dispicable groups in the world, their economy depends on us a lot. They do not want the U.S. to suffer economic trouble.
