The real story of it all will never be known? Well, that's up for debate. If I am ever convinced that our government let this happen in order to sway public opinion or to further a political agenda or, even worse, just to line the pockets of a few fat cats...that's the day all my hopes, dreams, love for this country die. I haven't seen any evidence that would lead me to believe that in the almost 10 years since 9/11 (that's a date BTW, not a phone number).

Fuck, now I'm giving credibility to the subject of this thread...I now return you to the monocat thread.

1) 911 happened exactly as explained by our news media and the 911 commission report

At this point don't really care I guess. I thought that there might be some intelligent people willing (and brave enough) to post their thoughts on this, and defend them with known facts, whether they believe it is a 'conspiracy' or not. Guess I was wrong for the most part. Sorry.

We came to the conclusion that oldsmoboat was behind 9-11, and he lost his modship because of it.

Threads about 9-11 since olds was demoted are generally discouraged because it makes olds cry to remember the awesome power he once had on AT forums.

Of course not. Those politicians are hardly righteous and just. Most of them are pretty crooked.

But the idea that an act of terrorism on this country was all a fabricated plan by Washington is dumb. The media was never a fan of Bush anyway, so why would they go along with him? What did Bush have to gain from it in the first place? People seemed to hate him enough already as it was. He stood to gain nothing, and gained nothing.

Nothing the conspiracy theorists put together actually comes together. There is a lot of conjecture thrown into the mix. I'm sure we don't know 100% of the story (like Washington may have had some warnings possibly, or something else) but even as screwed up as they can be there I do not and cannot believe they would create big scheme. Besides, it isn't like Bush was in office long enough to put it all together. He wasn't the brightest bulb.

I don't get what's so hard to believe about 9/11 happening as it happened. We got attacked by terrorists, Osama taunted us over it, his followers danced in the streets when we got attacked, etc etc etc...

Heck, I can't stand Obama, I do not trust the man at all, but if we were to get attacked I wouldn't say he's behind it all. If Al Gore was president instead of Bush, when 9/11 happened we would have probably still had some conspiracy theorists but I wouldn't doubt we'd have much fewer.

Uh, no, I have never seen anyone who intellectually bitchslapped idiot "truthers" claim the government is good and righteous. Quite the opposite, in fact. You just refuse to accept that none of the crackpot bullshit ideas people have tried to come up with make any sense whatsoever when you actually think about things for a moment.

Just curious...but who in the thread said that Washington planned it out? That is the biggest problem with 'conspiracy theories' IMHO, people simplify it to a point that it sounds rediculous. As if the government is the most powerful entity in the world.
