All that happened was an insignificant group of religious f*ckwads went and pissed on a beehive and have since been turned into bloodpaste a thousand fold.

Did you hear anyone on the tapes screaming "Damn you Saddam Hussein! Damn you for doing this!" No, I didn't think so.

Oh but hey -- it's mid-term elections, so time to trot out the 9/11 references so the GOP can trounce on all 3,000+ graves all at once all over again.

But since most of them were probably "terrist enabling libs" (obvious since New Yawk hates Bush and ergo America with a passion) it's OK.

Isn't chalking it up to political hay forgetting? OP sought to address it just as an event. Seems impossable for some though.

I do remember vows from both parties not to exploit 9/11 for political purposes, vows that have been repeatedly and crassly violated by the national GOP. (I see just by the gop)

Just two weeks VP Cheney stated that the citizens of CT who voted for Ned Lamont over Bush's pet Democrat, Joe Lieberman, were "Al-Quida types." The question is not whether we have forgotten 9/11, but rather how low can the national leadership of the GOP go?

Then You have let your feelings for GOP rob you of the ability to just see it as the event it was , and I think thats your loss.

I'd like to see the 9/11 tapes from Hurricane Katrina released. By the way, what ever happened to Bush's solemn vow to rebuild New Orleans? It seems to have gotten sidetracked.

I don't believe they would be called 911 tapes, in this case wouldn't they be katrina tapes?
I would imagine that you could obtain them if you tried hard enough. try writing your congressman.
Vow:
Well if its not getting done its not from being afraid to throw money at it.
I suspect it will take some time. Many people who relocated were actually glad to get out of that hole and get a fresh start, and have no intentions of going back.
Personally I think its stupid to rebuild the city in the same place. move it to higher ground. But all of this is extraneous and OT.

I'm still willing to consider seperating the war on terror from the war on Iraq. If you will consider seperating the war on terror from the war on Bush/Cheney.;)

I wish it were possible but bush/cheney have created more terror for the US and the war should now turn towards them

The tragedy nor the attackers either one cared about the victims race, country, religion, gender,or thier politics.
I think it is sad that many seem to have lost the ability to view it as just that.
And frankly , I don't give a rats rump how much you hate bush, you do a disservice to America, the people who died there and thier families.

Uh.. obviously not.. but should they run their whole campaign trying to scare the hell out of the voters?

Do they have no shame whatsoever..

You do remember what cheney said about people who would vote for kerry etc

I still remember when some politician (female) asked on like 9/12 or 9/13 .. we need to try to figure out why these people hate us this much.. she was labeled a traitor and a sissy liberal and a hater of America..
