One of the black pads on the processor fell off and is now missing. I'm afraid to use it without it. What should I do?:frown:

Thanks

You could probably glue it back on. I don't see why not, since there is no circuitry in the immediate vicinity. Just make sure you use a tiny tiny drop of glue and that it doesn't smear all over the place.

Oh I just read your post again. It's missing..eh? Hmm..crap I don't know where you can get another one, probably not Radio Shack. Try contacting AMD. I would be wary as to using a "home made" solution since those pads are the only thing that keep your HSF from crushing your core.

You could also buy a copper spacer for the CPU. I think they sell them at plycon.com.

Hmmmm... I was thinking maybe some kind of HS that I bought seperately for it might come with something? I'm running out of ideas.... I think I might just buy a copper spacer... $20 is a lot but worth it.
