I work in an office, and about 90% of men do wash their hands in the bathroom. I have noticed a few on occasion who don't, but it is a clear minority. Maybe in a bar it's different and most don't wash their hands. This doesn't surprise me though.

And yes, anti-germ freaks make me laugh too. They are usually the ones that are sick all the time.

I just do it out of politeness & habit. My junk isn't riddled with germs. My urine is sterile. I probably pick up more germs opening the door to the bathroom than I actually do while *going* to the bathroom.

But I wash them, at the least with water, as a courtesy to people that I may have contact with in the future. If my hands are a little sweaty I'll wipe them off before shaking hands. If they are dirty, I'll wash/wipe them off before shaking hands. If I just got done going to the bathroom, I'll wash them off out of politeness. It's silly, but it's just a habit and not done out of concern of germs.

If you need to do the "#2" duty, there are obvious sanitary concerns there, and that's certainly an issue of public health. So I *hope* people are washing hands after that duty.

Oh, some of the bars I've been in...I think I'm doing myself a favor not touching any of the faucets or fixtures. Some bathrooms are downright nasty!

I probably pick up more germs than I get rid of washing my hands. :p

Yeah..I see those guys everywhere in our office building too :| That's the reason I have a phobia about touching door knobs and other people's keyboards/mice. I see people walking right out of the bathroom after taking a leak----the WORST is leaving right after a #2. UGH!!! NASTY!!!!

Same here, that's why you saw in my previous post on this threat that I rather be carefull around those folks. What a nasty habit to have, not washing your hands just because you "think" your private part/piss is clean. YUCK!!!!!!

BTW, it is highly suspected that our overly antiseptic society is responsible for the recent explosion of autoimmune disorders. If your immune system has nothing to attack, it seems it turns on the body itself in an ever increasingly signifigant minority of people.

The way I see it is this - I don't piss on my hands. My penis is cleaner than my hands are because my penis stays, for the most part, in an enclosed space. If anything, I should be washing my penis after I pee.

Bingo!

The two dirtiest, germiest parts of your body at ANY given time are your hands, and face.

Your genitals and ass are actually the cleanest (given good hygiene).

If anything, you should be washing your hands BEFORE you piss. :p

Ok, then let me ask you this. Which guy would you shake hand with? A guy that NEVER wash his hands after he used the bathroom and a guy that ALWAYS washed his.

<<<<---- washes his hands when he uses the bathrom and uses paper to open the door and tries to limit the amount of touching in public places <door handles, handrail, gas pump>

Howard Hughes, is that you?

the key is to put your underwear under your penis and use it as a prop so you dont have to touch yourself.. then no worry of germs! Also use your foot to flush the toilet

Lol, there is no "think" about it.

Do you know that there was a study done a few years ago that said basically that people who pick their noses and ingest the contents have much stronger immune systems? It's a similar concept to shots, a weak attack on the immune system will actually strengthen it for when it has to fight off something serious.

So just think about it, even though my hands are more than likely staying cleaner by not touching all the nasty stuff in the bathroom, even if they are getting more dirty I'm actually helping you when I shake your hand and you use that hand to put food in your mouth. :D

Plus, it doesn't make any sense for a girl to freak out and I shall explain why using excerpts from the bar and then excerpts from my house:

Earlier that night:
"Ewww tweakmm, why didn't you wash your hands after you touched your penis. Ewww ewww ewww."
Later that night:
"slurp slurp slurp" Thinking: "Wow, I'm retarded."

i will say pee and walk out isn't so bad if you don't consider what you are touching in there.

There are a lot of guys I have witnessed (I think embarrassed they have to take a dump once in a while) that bolt out of the restroom after one. That is nasty...e.colli alone.

However, if you consider the people that do go out and screw whatever comes their way, then go home, wake up, skip the shower...do it again a few times....then you start wanted people to wash their hands.

I think it's more not what you just did 2 seconds before, but why not wash your hands when the opportunity presents itself.

The worst thing is, is that the people that dont wash their hands now touch the door handles. Think of all the dudes that jerked off or had sex earlier and now they just took a piss and their penis is probably sweaty at that point and then they touch all the door handles.

Ive worked in a lot of retail places and I have never seen door handles cleaned unless I cleaned them myself which I do.

Do you also use the underwear to shake the drops or do you jump up and down?

e coli?? Toilet paper is so cheap that I use a huge wad of it. I'm not getting any sh!t on my hands.

Personally, I rarely wash my hands after urination, but almost always do after taking a dump. As far as it being a "courtesy" to other people, bullsh!t. It's just a cultural taboo not to wash your hands. There are absolutely no health implications from a normal healthy person not washing their hands after peeing.

I'd find it hilarious to take a few of you on a backpacking trip... "uhhh, where's the bathroom?" "What?! No sink to wash my hands in??" Then again, I've noticed that a vast majority of people here are from relatively urban areas and have probably never ventured more than 100 yards or so from a sidewalk or road.

I never said there were. But then again, there's really no health implications from dipping my hand in a tub of vasoline and then shaking somebodies hand either. But that's not to say it's the most polite or pleasant thing to do to somebody.

I was in the Cub/Boy scout programs for 10 years spending weeks at a time with no indoor plumbing at my disposal. I never washed my hands after "watering" a tree or a bush. If I am camping, hiking, or hunting, I don't wash my hands after taking a leak there either.

But then again, I'm not regularly shaving, using deodorant, or pressing my clothing before venturing out in those situations either.

It is a lifestyle and a courtesy choice. I wear deodorant while working in an office environment as a courtesy to others. I brush my teeth everymorning and use mouthwash so my breath doesn't knock somebody over when I breath on them. I wash my hands after peeing simply because I think it a polite thing to do.

The little spritz of water it requires and the single hand towel isn't going to bring the ecosystem crashing down.

I make sure to pee all over myself... seriously last time I went out with my friends my friend spilt his drink and every bit of it got on me. It looked like I ad peed my pants several times for the last two hours. I just walked around and asked people how they felt about Miles Davis.
