I bought from them about 3 years ago. Shipped quickly. Wonder if they still have the credit card surcharge?

Don't order from this company... I made that mistake once. Check their reseller rating, it's low... My story for those to heed:

It's a long story so i'll make it short... i had bought a rage fury pro from them for 169 a year ago, got the card in decent time fashion. I opened it up and to my dismay it was an ATI Rage Magnum, same chipset only no tv out... i said fine, whatever. I see the performance sucks so i RMA it back for a voodoo 3 2000. You would not believe how long this process took. It took 2 weeks just to set up the RMA switch, then i didn't receive my card for another 4, then i had to go pick it up b/c they shipped it to the wrong address... To make things worse i was supposed to be credited 70 dollars for the difference. I didn't see that money until 3 or 4 months later. On top of it all their customer service is slow and, as always, of no help... especially that guy Robert... i hate that guy. Anyway, that's my rant, plz heed the warning.

Like Techwhore said, dealing with this company is a pain in the rump. About a year ago, I purchased a modem. I was promised that it would ship the next day. After three days, I called to check the status -- it was out of stock. Eventually, a modem came in and they shipped it via UPS ground -- even though they promised to give me free next day delivery. Finally, I received the modem -- not the one I ordered, though. I thought I would install it anyway since it was a weekend -- DEAD as a door nail.

Getting a RMA from them was a nightmare. Eventually, after I left a 3rd or 4th voice mail over the process of a week, I received a call back. I shipped the modem back to them and received the credit well over a month after they received the modem -- and that was only because I raised some cane with them. If I hadn't, I'd probably still be waiting for my credit.

I'd find another company to deal with. I'll give Components Direct a rating of 'Two Thumbs Down'.

Rather then edit, i'll reply and bump this...

I forgot to mention that i was suppose to receive something from them, drivers or something, and they claimed to have shipped it and called me to notify me of that. A week or so passes i'm thinking i should have them by now so i call and they assure me they sent them... i get them the next day in a FedEx overnight package... to affirm what wje said, if i hadn't called them almost everyday i probably wouldn't have received a credit. Good luck to those who have placed orders... just hope you don't need an RMA

I have found that when you send something back to these shady kind of
vendors that it is best to go ahead and dispute it with the credit card company ASAP so you dont have to wait 3 months for your money back. Downsoftwaretech is feeling my heat on one of these deals right now and my credit card compoany is laughing at them and their bologna.

Can somebody point to a site (if there is any) where a rating or comments for these vendors (from pricewatch) are posted? Wouldn't that be awesome?
I ve never found one.....

<< but again.......who am I... i am just new here..... >>

i don't think HellRaven emphasized it enough EXTREMELY important. If i had known about it over a year ago, i'd be very happy.

Before I built my own computer, I checked up on every vendor before each purchase. Sure some of these on-line vendors offer great prices but it's not worth your trouble if you have to return it. Stick with the ones with good ratings and you'll be fine. I haven't had any trouble following their guidelines, yet.

It took a while for a sales rep and the person who answered didn't have a clue why I had been waiting. I did however order anyways and hope that the memory will be good. I'll edit after testing it.

Company isn't worth paying what they are charging for ram. I had a really bad experiance when I ordered my floppy drive from them, first they over charged then when I sent it back they didn't credit the credit card so I had to dispute the payment. Just a pain in the @$$.

You guys should check the Online store to see if anyone had any good or bad service with most of these companies out there. http://www.resellerratings.com/

It has quite a lot of shops with customer responses before buying from online computer store, and you can also post feedbacks.

i think we covered that rockshox72 if you had read the old posts. anyway, pricewatch should really TRY atleast to let people know that if a vendor gets 3 compains in 1 month, their lists are suspened. More people would complain and get rid of the really bad companies.

Got the ram today, won't have time to put it in until tomorrow so I'll let you know.

Chips are marked as follows

LD PC133WAB
0030LD
C128V9912808-7

so it is 7 ns ram but I'm not sure if the LD means Toshiba or not.

Just got mine today. Here are the numbers on the chip:
LD PC133WAB
0026LD
C128V9912808-7
I've had no problems running CAS2 133mhz, will try higher bus speeds and update.
