We really need to start restricting birthrate and/or requiring a license to breed, acquired by having a 100+ IQ and passing various courses on parenting.

Well, i would rather be around somebody who at least was rehabilitated than one who wasn't.

I realize there is no easy fix to this situation, but the sooner we come to grips with what our society is capable of, the better off we will be (i.e, that kids are capable of cold blooded murder).

Yep, you have no solution... but the sooner we come to 'grips' with this, everything will be alright.

Who are we kidding now? Kid's mentalities now are alot different than when they came up with 'not old enough to be tried as an adult'...these laws need to be revisited...

/end of rant....

Works for me.

I'm sorry, but kids should know the difference of right and wrong at the age of 9 easily....just like they know that stabbing their friend in the chest with a large kitchen knife is definitely wrong.

Just build a lil sparky jr chair strap her in, broadcast it to all the jv centers to show them that we are tired of putting up with their crap and it won't be tolerated anymore. Hell, I'll even throw the switch if noone else wants to.

You would honestly trust your family around this girl after she was 'rehabilitated'?

I don't have a solution, but pretending that these innocent little 'younglings' won't harm the hair on your children's neck is being totally naive...

I don't know to be honest... but i do know that i would rather be around somebody who was under some sort of rehabilitation rather than locked up in a hardcore juvenile prison for years, and then just let out.

Am I the only one who thinks the mother is partially responsible and should be given a sentence for this too? Maybe give her probation or community service. When are we going to take some responsibility for our kids' actions? Who lets them watch all that violent TV or violent music? Who leaves knives accessible to 9 yrs olds? Who is truly responsible?

Uh, knives are used in the kitchen to, you know, cut food products. You do realize it's silly to think parents should lock up knives. I mean, hell, what parent says, "You know, I should put these knives out of reach because little Shaneequa might just stab her friend over a ball one day"

OK, maybe that was a bit extreme but I hope you get my point in that parents should share some responsiblity in raising these children and teaching them right from wrong. Or am I mistaken?

I'd rather be around neither. Obviously we can't execute kids, but we could lock them up for life when they commit heinous crimes. Unfortunately, it's not financially feasible, and kids aren't the only ones serving under 10 years for murder... gotta make room for drug offenders after all

An answer to your problems is just a flipped switch away.
