not sure if anyone has posted this yet, so apologies in advance if it is, but browsing thru the threads on here, all i saw were the refurb units from onvia and buy.com

Staples has the 48X Memorex CDROM (SKU 381913) for $49.99 less the $20 of $50 coupon and a $20.00 rebate = $9.99. Add a pencil to get over the $50.00 and get free shipping too.

Linkfied - 48x cdrom Memorex w/ $20 rebate

Added an $0.89 gel pen - i love these things. they write almost anywhere. almost like a marker

edit - i just ordered mine about 10 mins ago. got a confirmation number and the csr says that it should be shipped out tomrrow 11/10!

Memorex screwed me out of a legitimate rebate last time I bought one of these.

Memorex can go to .. F*&*^%$ themselves.

Sorry.... but I wont ever purchase a product from them again. Just a personal thing.

LMAO.... just check out the rediculous window on their rebate.... if that doesn't tell you that they don't want to give the rebate .... nothin will. Dumb arses. They really hate giving the rebates.

Great price though!:)

If you got to Staples B&M they'll give you the $20 off. Just bring the "code" and give it to 'em upon check out. I used a $40 off $200 purchase last week to get an NEC Multisync 17" for $239. Not a bad price, plus I needed it for a LAN party.

So went back today and gave em the code for $20 off $50 and got the Memorex 48X for $29.00 and the $20 MIR. So 9 buckaroos once I get my MIR!

Just make sure that you tell em that the code was emailed to you by Staples.com. It will help if there's not a manager around. The "cashier chick" took the code, that was hand written by me, and while proccesing my discount the manager showed up. He said that "next time make sure I bring the printed email". I still got the $20 off!

They said they have plenty of em in stock.

Just got mine and threw it on the bench to test it. Running CDspeed2000 and this thing cannot even get through the test for an audio CD...the test just stops and the light on the CD stays on??? Same CD worked fine on my old 32x player...

It did finish the data CD test. Uhgg, 8x max. On the Audio portion it did get through the speed portion...again 8x max.

Time to throw this POS into one of my ancient PC's...where no one will find it. I guess it was worth 9 bucks... :(

I got mine today and it works just as good as my old 32x, maybe better?

I'm happy for $9, if I get the rebate?
