9 Commenataries on the Communist Party? [in China]

Anybody know anything about this? Been speaking with a very smart guy about it, I'm going to read it after I finish the current book I'm working on, but I'm looking for someone to play devils advocate and shoot it down, prove it wrong. Apparently it's lead to the resignation of 40-odd million Chinese from the Communist party.

I'm particularly interested because of the recent growing destabilization of the Communist Party in China. Did you know there are over 200 protests/day across China? A lot of them are related to government corruption-- officials seizing peasant's land for little to no money, and then reselling to corporations for a huge profit and check from the corporation. People are getting tired of this, and their frustration is brewing. Protests also are related to recent layoffs; apparently there are several million now unemployed Chinese, due to the decrease in American (and the rest of the world's) spending.

Other recent studies have been showing the government there has a LOT of work ahead of them if they want to maintain power.
They're definitely NOT getting the 8-10% annual growth they need to keep people happy.

North Korea is China's Fault. The Korean War was almost over when Chinese Communists invaded Korea.

First North Korea invaded with the backing of the Soviets, with Soviet made Tanks. Then after NATO forces defeated them, the Chinese decided they would try invading.

I would still consider China a Threat.

You think government taking land of peasants and leaving them to die is a new thing? No, it's always happened.

You think a country with over a billion people only have 200 protests a day? No, if that many is reported it's easily much more than that. Im surprised it's that many who are willing to face death to only get a small message out hoping that anyone would care enough to help them out.

Whenever there ARE deaths reported by the party, you can always easily assume the tolls are well over 10x worse. And most of the time you're right.

That being said, with the world's biggest consumer facing a depression, it could get ugly there for a while, but the transition also puts them on a path to be a more dominant global producer and player sooner. And hopefully this would lessen poverty and increase standards of livings as well as basic human rights.

I just dont understand how the communist party could NOT maintain power. I think it would be hard to lose control [or a grip on the masses] when they're the side controlling all the information, food, businesses, money, bombs and guns.

WTF?? There would still be one Korea and no need for any war with immense casualties if some retarded Americans didn't decide that the best way to split the country was to divide it in half by some artificial line. Give me a break.

With a general like MacArthur in charge that had an itch to invade China while on the border, of course the Chinese will get involved. If they took over Korea, the Americans wouldn't hesitate to move into China.

One korea? But it would be Russian backed and Stalinist, you would have 75 million under a Juche state. Talk about casualties...The Russian's only stopped because the American's asked them to.

Although I do agree they shouldn't have passed the 38th, or at least had some serious diplomatic talks with Russia and China first to explain the talks between MacA and Truman. It was MacArthur who invaded, not Congress and and the President, which made this a little difficult.

MacArthur didnt make any demands on China until after they invaded. And we werent going to take China. What for and how?

As for the splitting. It fell along the same idea as Eastern Europe. Where the Soviet troops advanced so did communism. Stalin wanted a buffer zone much like Europe and agreed before the war ended to only advance his troops to the 38th parallel. They advanced that far and that was it.
