when you sign up with them, what info is released to the public about you. and where do they get the info, is it from your initial log in info, or the credit card info... (i.e. can i give some BS info to be released to the public yet still give them my real info for billing)

is there something mentioned in the terms of service that would advocate them releasing your info to a third party?

I think the crux is, when it comes to renew, you have to use one of their regular plans since the code is only for new customers. So you go from 10 a year, to about 60-120 a year.

I''m in. I had a domain parked at godaddy, changed the DNS servers to point to dreamhosts servers, within a half hour it was available at dreamhost. Fast stuff on the DNS propagation. Last time I did this about 4 years ago it was a nightmare. This time, it's trivial. cool deal, man. Thanks, OP, u rox

Agreed, but if you use the bandwidth, $10/mo for 120GB isn't bad.

Seems to be a lot of people taking advantage of the "valuable info" that the OP didn't discover.

Oh please....do a simple search in hotdeals and it will bring up this deal from december. Dream host automatically upgraded everyones accout with 2.4gb storage and 120gb bw about 2 months ago....

Plus this has been all over the internet for 6 months now.....

Do a search over at FW and you will see this deal being over 6 months old.....

Sorry to burst your bubble OP.....you didnt discover anything.....

Who cares, Garlic breath. 😛 🙂 Although I had read something about this or another offer like this some time ago, I still found the timing right for me.

You ppl should stop slamming the guy.

I had no idea about this deal. I've been suffering with no webalizer info from RippleHost since November. This month, I'm showing 0 MB bandwidth transferred as of today, but I know it's around a gig (at least). And Alan wasn't answering anything on his forum. I finally got fed up and decided to look around, and stumbled across this thread.

Like RossMAN said waaaay back when I first decided on his "seal of approval" cheap host for RippleHost: you get what you pay for. For awhile, I had a great deal with Ripplehost. Now it's time to move on. I may later get what I pay for again, but OP was the one who posted a thread I never would have seen otherwise (considering how I search forums...)

Thanks, OP. Currently moving up 40M to my new host.

If OP wanted people to see this deal he could of simply bumped the thread back from december 2004 and not create a new one and try to scoop up referals....Sorry OP go find referals elsewhere....we dont want any people like you here....hotdeals is for sharing not a place to generate referal for ones self.....

Actually RippleHost.com never has and never will carry the "RossMAN Seal of Approval".

They are a cheap web host period and I've always warned people "you get what you pay for". Obviously that has fallen on deaf ears for some.

so does this mean $9/ year for every year? There not going to like raise the price after a year right?.. or are they?

Why dont you just read the terms and conditions?

Of course there going to raise the price after your year is up.

After the year you will have to pay a certain $$$ per month....

in my defense, i heard about this deal from a personal friend. also, i did search the hot deals under "dreamhost" with no results. this is my last response to you, garlic so back off and bug some other thread
